The written guide

The same advice as the video, in the order you'll need it.

Every time

Wash your hands first

  • Wash your hands before you touch the area.
  • Follow your artist's directions for washing your brows and for any aftercare product.

Hand washing only. Keep fresh brows out of running water unless your artist says otherwise.

While you heal

Hands off, let it heal

  • Don't pick, scratch, or peel the treated area.
  • Let any flakes come away on their own.

Until healed

Protect healing skin

  • Avoid swimming and soaking in water.
  • Keep makeup and other irritating products off the area, as your artist advises.
  • Once your skin has healed, sunscreen helps protect your brows.

While you heal

What can be normal while you heal

A little pink

Mild tenderness and redness can happen in the first days. It should ease and settle, rather than spread or get worse.

Redness can look different on every skin tone.

Flaking and itching

Later, light flaking and mild itching can happen as your skin heals. Resist the urge to pick, and let the flakes come away naturally.

Darker, then lighter

Your brows may look darker at first, then lighter or uneven while they heal. Healing is different for everyone, so this early look is not the final result. Your artist can check your healed brows with you.

When it's not routine healing

These are not routine healing signs:

  • Worsening or spreading redness
  • Increasing pain
  • Pus
  • Fever or chills

Get medical attention promptly. Don't wait for a studio reply.

You can let your artist know too.

Eye symptoms and emergencies

Get urgent medical assessment for:

  • New vision changes
  • Significant eye pain
  • Pain when you move your eye
  • Swelling that affects your eye

These are not ordinary brow healing. Don't wait for studio advice.

Sudden vision loss, severe eye pain, trouble breathing or severe swelling needs emergency care straight away.

Once healed

Your touch-up, your artist's timing

Some areas can heal lighter than others.

Once you have healed, arrange any touch-up timing with your artist.

Every client heals differently, and results vary.
